Accommodations
Accommodates up to 7 in two staterooms, varnished teak interior with some white flat panels to keep the boat light and airy in the standard Cape Dory 40 layout. Oiled teak sole; 9 opening bronze ports and 4 large fixed port, 4 hatches and a dorade provide an abundance of natural light and ventillation. Reading lamps at each berth and settee plus a number of overhead lamps for artificial lighting.

Starting forward is the Forward Stateroom, featuring V-berth with filler, below which there is a small seat for dressing, drawers and drop face lockers as well as some bin type storage. Above the berth the hull is lined with varnished ash hull ceilings and a full length storage shelf. Access to the chain locker through the forward bulkhead. Aft of the stbd. V is a bureau with drawers and a locker while aft of the port V is private access to the head.

Next aft to port is the Head featuring a separate stall shower compartment, manual W.C. plumbed via Y valve to the holding tank, generous vanity with stainless steel sink with pressure H&C water and storage: Opposite the head is a hanging locker and bureau with drawers, above and outboard of which is a 2nd locker.

The Main Salon is next aft and features a large U shaped dining settee to port and straight settee to starboard. The pedestal table for dining drops down as a filler to make a large double berth. There is tankage and some bin stowage below the settees, storage behind the seat backs and in shelves with fiddles and lockers above the settees. The aft facing Nav. Station is aft of the stbd. settee and includes a chart storage locker under the table top and drawers and lockers for storage as well as shelving outboard for navigational electronics.

The private Aft Stateroom is next aft to starboard and features a true double quarter berth, small bureau with sink & pressure H&C water (normally covered with a covering board, see photo), drawers under the quarter berth, and a hanging locker. Again the hull is properly lined with varnished ash ceilings.

Opposite the aft cabin and navigation station is the U-shaped Galley which features excellent counter space and storage with several drawers and lockers. The stainless sink is a deep double basin unit and plumbed with pressure H&C water, manual fresh and manual salt water pumps. Three burner gimbaled Propane stove with oven and broiler. Large well insulated "ice box" equipped with Cold Machine refrigeration.
