Captain Ted Vander Wiede, skipper of s/v Restless a Cape Dory 40 Cutter has over 35 years of sailing experience. He has sailed over 35,000 miles in the last 6 years including voyages to the Bahamas, Canada, a Panama Canal Transit, Cruising the US West Coast from San Francisco to San Diego and both coasts of Latin America.. Much of the sailing was on an Allied Seawind MKII Ketch called Flicka and was single-handed. He has a Master/Mate 50 Gross Ton USCG License as well an ASA Sailing Instructor Certification. Ted’s expertise in marine electronics includes VHF Digital Selective Calling Systems and Automatic Identification Systems (AIS). These are state of the art safety systems for modern cruising yachts.
